Soprano Haeran Hong, named the International Queen Elizabeth Grand Prize winner, has been noted as “charming of form, manner, and voice.” Recent engagements include the début of the role of Violetta in La Traviata with Opera in Williamsburg, the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor with Florida Grand Opera, the title role in Verdi’s Giovanna d’Arco with Odyssey Opera, and a return to The Metropolitan Opera as a Flower Maiden in Parsifal.
Tenor Won Whi Choi has been busy captivating and thrilling audiences worldwide with his lustrous and ringing voice, elegant musicianship, and sensitive artistry. He spent three seasons at Theatre Erfurt in Germany, in which he sang a variety of leading roles, including Il Duca in Rigoletto, Don José in Carmen, Roméo in Roméo et Juliette, Ferrando in Così fan Tutte, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Hyllus in Hercules, Andres in Wozzeck, Il Cantatore in Giulietta e Romeo, and Prince Sou- Chong in Lehár’s Das Land des Lächelns.
Dr. Kim has a dual faculty appointment in Prevention Science and Practice/CAS in Counseling programs at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and in the Department of Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She is also on faculty at the Center for Cross-Cultural Student Emotional Wellness at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a National Certified Counselor whose clinical skills and experiences span many contexts including residential facilities, community agencies, and public and private schools.
Dr. Kim has provided professional consultation and expertise on multicultural, mental health, career development, and educational issues to various media sources in Asia and in the U.S. She is USA Today's collegiate case study expert on school violence and has been featured in EBS (Educational Broadcast System) and KBS (Korea Broadcast System) programs in Korea related to developmental and mental health issues of youths. Dr. Kim is the keynote speaker at 70-100 parent, teacher, counselor, and youth conferences yearly in Asia and in the U.S.
